![]() Bohse did just that with his gripping retelling of the twisted events of summer 1989. It would take someone particularly adroit to execute it with accuracy and artistry. Because of the duration of the events, the story was equally compelling and challenging to adapt. The series follows the search for Barbara Neder (who is based on Birgit Meier) by her brother, Thomas, and a young rookie cop named Anne. In director Sven Bohse’s narrative adaptation of the true crime, “Dark Woods,” the events and characters are portrayed with both authenticity and cinematic finesse. The show allows me to just shut off my mind and absorb myself into a world not too different from our own. I don’t remember how I stumbled across The Wicked Library, but from the moment I pressed play, I found what I had been looking for. I knew what I was hoping to find, but I just couldn’t track it down. I have specific taste when it comes to podcasts, and for the past few years, I stopped listening completely. ![]() The stories are well-written and the Q & A sessions with the authors offer great insights on the entire writing process. Very reminiscent of Tales from the Crypt, keep it up! So good Love the Private Collector arc and the stories told. This show got me through a deep depression and it’s everything to me. The background music and sound engineering are awesome and the stories are consistently well written. I had a hard time finding a podcast of similar quality to listen to next and was excited to discover The Wicked Library. I listen during my 40 minute commute and through more tedious tasks at work in the lab and it makes the day go faster. The quality of this podcast is exceptional. The stories are attention grabbing and clearly written by talented authors. The narrations have a beautiful cadence that makes it easy to place yourself into the story. I have never been so enthralled with any media. I am so happy I found The Lift and was proven wrong. I always asked why listen to talking when you can just put on music. Listening to a Podcast seemed extremely boring to me. I was never one for podcasts….The Lift has changed that ★★★★★ Totally in love with this podcast and can’t wait for more. Plus the interactions between her and the librarian are heartwarming and funny. ![]() Victoria is a mixture of amazingly cute but also frightening but that’s what makes me like her even more. The way she gives people the choice to fix what’s going on in their lives or ultimately giving the people who are bad seeds what they truly deserve. Victoria and her lift not only entertain but keeps you guessing the whole way. ![]()
